SCOTTISH brewer and bars firm, Brewdog, has announced that all 700 of its staff have achieved the Certified Beer Server qualification from beer training program Cicerone.
The qualification provides a baseline level of knowledge across various aspects of beer, from ingredients, styles and flavour to storage and serving.
The firm is now aiming to put up to 200 of its staff through the second tier of Cicerone’s qualifications, the Certified Cicerone. Two Brewdog team members, co-founder James Watt and product marketing manager Rob MacKay, are the only two people from the UK to have passed the exam for the highest qualification, Master Cicerone. Watt said the training has resulted in “the most knowledgeable staff ever assembled by a brewery or retail business in Europe”.
“It’s been a labour of love that will particularly pay great dividends through the awesome experiences customers can expect when they interact with our world-class bar teams,” said Watt.
