PUBS could be missing a sales opportunity by not offering breakfast, according to a report by potato brand Lamb Weston.
The Future of Breakfast: An Insight Report 2017 found that 48% of 18 to 24 year olds eat breakfast in on-trade venues once or twice a month; 41% of 25 to 34 year olds do the same. Currently, hotels and cafés are said to be the most popular breakfast venues, followed by restaurants then pubs.
Nigel Phillips of Lamb Weston said breakfast is now viewed as “a sociable, indulgent occasion”.
