Keep app to date with security tech

• ADT said the app allows business owners to check HD cameras and set up security alerts.

SECURITY firm ADT has created an app which it claims offers “the next generation of security” for UK businesses.

Over half (51%) of small to medium-sized businesses in the UK have been targeted by crime, costing owners up to £25 million – or £2625 for each crime – according to ADT.

Adding that 80% of businesses close within 18 months of a major incident, ADT said security provision is something SMEs “can’t ignore”.

The company said its Smart Business app allows operators to check HD cameras, and set security and safety alerts which sends notifications to the app.

Additionally, it alerts operators when the alarm is activated and begins a live feed to increase the likelihood of identifying perpetrators.

Compatible with smartphones, tablets and desktop computers, the system features advanced encryption, 24/7 alarm monitoring and unlimited cloud storage.

Lee Jasper of ADT said the system is “designed specifically” for business owners and “uses state of the art technology to keep what’s important to them safe”.
