EDINBURGH-based Daffy’s Gin has joined forces with Red Magazine to produce a limited edition red gooseberry gin.
Working with a team from the magazine, the firm behind Daffy’s produced a one-off batch of 5000 bottles of the 41.4% ABV London Dry gin, which is infused with Scottish red gooseberries from Montrose.
Chris Molyneaux, managing director and distiller of Daffy’s Gin, who launched the spirit with wife Mignonne in 2014, said joining forces with the lifestyle magazine to create the gin “has been an enormous pleasure and privilege for us”.
“We embarked on a late summer foraging trip down the river Spey picking local juniper, wild river mint and yarrow as additional botanicals used in the gin,” he said.
“The result is an exceptionally original and fruity, full-strength gin using only 100% natural and fresh seasonal ingredients.”
