A new litter

A HUSBAND and wife team have launched a new, small-batch gin which is named after their three dogs.

3 Pugs Gin, which is produced by Stephen and Christine Ditchfield in their garden distillery, features illustrations of their three Pug pups – Pepsi, Tutu and Mojo – on the label.

The gin is made using eight botanicals, including juniper, coriander, orris, angelica, cardamom, elderflower, basil and orange; these are macerated for 24 hours prior to distillation. Two variants have been released – 42% ABV Signature and 40% ABV Blackcurrant – both of which are packed in a wax-sealed bottle in 50cl and 4cl miniature formats.

Jonathan Hammond, chief executive of wine and spirit merchant Hammonds of Knutsford, which is distributing the gin, said: “3 Pugs Gin combines the Ditchfields’ twin passions for their dogs and gin, creating a stand-out premium-tasting gin with a charming on-shelf appeal.”
