Hospitality stars shine at awards

A MEMBER of the team at Gleneagles has beaten competition from across the UK to win a top award.

Lewis Hunter was named Young Waiter of the Year at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ Annual Awards of Excellence at the Rosewood in London; the Young Chef of the Year title went to Henry Wadsworth of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons near Oxford, while Elena Bockshecker of Harrods was named Young Pastry Chef of the Year.

The awards also honoured a further 20 young chefs, pastry chefs and waiters, including Lauren Chappell of Cromlix near Dunblane; Ross Hunter and Stefanie Obermayer of Gleneagles; and Charlotte Poynton of The Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye.
