CHEF Tom Kitchin’s Edinburgh restaurant The Kitchin has re-opened for business following a major refurbishment and expansion.
The Michelin-starred establishment in Leith has been extended into the neighbouring unit. It features a bigger dining space, private dining room, whisky snug and a temperature-controlled wine cellar, as well as an expanded kitchen with new butchery area.
The restaurant interior, which was designed by Kitchin’s wife Michaela and Stephen Patterson of Burns Design, is said to represent the venue’s “from nature to plate” philosophy, with fixtures, fittings and fabrics sourced from Scottish firms including Timorous Beasties.
Tom Kitchin said the new-look restaurant will “enhance our guests’ experience”.
“Our customers are so loyal and it is their support that has allowed us to take this step,” he said.
“This expansion is a thank you to them and will make their visit to Leith even more special and memorable.”
