ORGANISERS of this year’s Scottish Tourism Week Signature Programme have taken to social media to raise awareness of Scotland’s tourism industry by encouraging Twitter users to create a giant ‘word cloud’ online.
From January 1, Twitter users have been tweeting the single word that best sums up Scotland to them followed by the hashtag #onewordScotland. The responses are being collated into a word cloud which will be unveiled on March 4 during Scottish Tourism Week.
Marc Crothall, chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, said: “The world is becoming an increasingly small place and there are many more places to visit so to ensure Scotland becomes that destination of choice our collective promotional voice has to be even louder in 2015.”
