A CHEF turned entrepreneur has secured Scotland-wide listings for what’s claimed to be the country’s first curry pizza.
Dave Gannon’s invention was originally created as an experimental snack for staff at his Indian restaurant in Chamonix, France.
The Curry Dave range of ‘currizzas’ are created using Indian naan bread as a base, which is then topped with fresh curry sauces and grated mozzarella.
Gannon launched the Curry Dave range in 2013 and is now on track to produce 10,000 currizzas a week.
Last month the products were listed in 107 Tesco stores across Scotland, and Gannon is said to be actively pursuing on-trade listings for the range with Scottish pubs and bars.
There are four varieties of Curry Dave pizza: Chicken Korma, Chicken Madras, Chicken Tikka and Sweet Potato & Spinach.
