CHEF Jonathan MacDonald of Glasgow restaurant Ox and Finch picked up the top food award at this year’s Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards.
MacDonald, who opened Ox and Finch in May of this year, was one of four nominees selected by a panel of judges to be put to a public vote.
The chef received his award from last year’s winner Tony Singh at a ceremony held at Prestonfield in Edinburgh.
MacDonald said it was “very surprising” and “quite humbling” to be recognised by Glenfiddich.
“It’s amazing to be mentioned on that list of names,” said MacDonald.
“It wasn’t something I was expecting at all.”
Previous winners include chefs Andrew Fairlie, Nick Nairn, Carina Conti and Fi Buchanan.
