Hotel overlooking championship course on the market

OPERATORS looking to grab a slice of the 2016 Open Championship action might be interested in a Troon hotel which has come onto the books of Colliers International.
Located next to the 18th hole of Royal Troon Golf Course, which has hosted the Open on eight occasions and is due to stage the competition again in 2016, The Marine Hotel is on the market with a price tag of offers in the region of £7 million.
The hotel, which offers views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig, has 89 bedrooms, a public lounge and bar known as The Arran Bar, an award-winning main restaurant and the AA rosette Two Fat Ladies at The Marine restaurant.
Facilities at the hotel include a swimming pool and health and leisure club, and a self-contained conference centre.
Julian Troup of Colliers International, who is marketing the property on behalf of The Hotel Collection, said The Marine has “considerable heritage, a strong trading base and platform for future business growth”.
“We anticipate considerable interest from our database of UK and international buyers,” said Troup.
