PRODUCTION of Black Bull whisky at a new self-contained blending and bottling facility got off to a racing start when Scottish motorsport team Ecurie Ecosse brought its 2014 British GT winning BMW Z4 to the Huntly site’s launch event.
The new facility, which is owned and run by Black Bull parent firm Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, is home to a semi-automated bottling line, a secure warehouse with stock of 620 casks of whisky, large scale stainless steel blending tanks and a dry goods store.
The move came as the firm celebrated a successful season sponsoring Ecurie Ecosse, which also nabbed third place in this year’s Blancpain Endurance Series.
Euan Shand, master blender for Black Bull, said opening the new plant is a “fantastic step for us, and through the growth of our brands, especially Black Bull, we can now broaden our scope in terms of what we would like to achieve”. “Our blending and bottling plant gives us a huge increase in capacity and output which will allow us to continually offer our customers the best whiskies available in the world at all times,” said Shand.
