A FORMER East Dunbartonshire Council property in Bearsden is set to be redeveloped into a boutique hotel.

Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group is set to transform 123 year old Boclair House, which was formerly the headquarters of the authority’s education department, into a 15-bedroom hotel with bar.
Steve Graham, MD of Manorview, which operates six hotels including The Lynnhurst in Johnstone, The Commercial in Wishaw and the recently-revamped Busby south of Glasgow, told SLTN the firm aims to have the hotel open by next summer.
WPH Developments/Westpoint Homes plans to build nine detached homes on the site to the rear of the Grade B-listed building,
Graeme Todd, a partner at DM Hall, which handled the sale, said: “It has been a long process with a great many interested parties and a range of competing proposals, but I believe, ultimately, that the council has opted for the best possible option.”
