Swedish brand distributes ‘keep cosy’ kits to the trade
THE firm behind Swedish cider brand Kopparberg has launched its Spiced Apple variant in time for winter.
Released this month, the 4% ABV Spiced Apple cider, which was initially trialled last year, is designed to meet what’s said to be increasing demand from consumers who view cider as a year-round drink.
Kopparberg UK described the new cider as “full of winter flavour” with a “warming sweetness, balancing cinnamon notes with a woody aroma”; it can be served over ice or warm.
Kopparberg cider fans have frequently asked us for a winter variant and, following a trial, we are rolling Spiced Apple out.
Selected pubs and bars will also be offered ‘keep cosy kits’, which include a branded urn and ‘festive knit’ mugs to mull, dispense and serve the cider.
Spiced Apple joins the existing variants in the Kopparberg range, which include Cloudberry, Elderflower & Lime, Mixed Fruit, Pear, Strawberry & Lime, Naked Apple and Raspberry.
Rob Calder, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said the new cider had been driven by demand for a new variety over the colder months.
“Kopparberg cider fans have frequently asked us for a winter variant and after a limited trial in 2013 we have decided to roll the variant out to a wider audience in 2014,” he said.
“The urns and mugs are wrapped with a winter jumper design to make them stand out from the busy back bar.”
