EDINBURGH pub The Scran & Scallie has scooped two gongs in the inaugural Food Awards Scotland.
The team, led by Michelin Star chefs Tom Kitchin and Dominic Jack, won Pub/Bar of the Year (Overall) and Pub/Bar of the Year (South East) at the event.
Tom Kitchin, who opened the Stockbridge pub in March 2013 with Dominic Jack, said: “Every menu we create for the pub showcases the very best seasonal produce that we can get from our trusted suppliers and we’re incredibly proud to be able to prove that pub food can be done well.
“Dominic Jack and I use the same ‘from nature to plate’ philosophy we live and breathe at our own restaurants and apply it in a more relaxed way at The Scran & Scallie.”
Levi Sweeney-McGrath, manager of the Stockbridge pub, said: “It’s a massive achievement and an honour for us to be recognised by the Scottish public and our loyal customers.
“From day one we’ve always strived to be a unique, quality gastropub and we’re looking forward to continuing to share our passion for great Scottish food and hospitality.”
