TRADE groups have called for industry and government to work together for the benefit of Scotland following last month’s referendum vote.
A joint statement from organisations that included the Federation of Small Businesses, Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the Scotch Whisky Association said the business community should work with the UK and Scottish governments to “make Scotland the best place to live, work and, above all, do business”.
“We need to move forward to realise our growth ambitions, create more jobs, increase investment and ensure that Scotland is open for business,” it said.
Marc Crofthall, chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, said the organisation “welcomes the opportunity to continue to work in partnership with Scottish government and industry bodies to grow our industry and to support wider economic recovery”.
