A NEW lessee is being sought for an 18th century former coaching inn which has links with Sir Walter Scott.
The Clovenfords Country Inn near Galashiels in the Scottish Borders has a lounge, public bars, a 60-cover restaurant and eight letting rooms.
Sir Walter Scott is said to have stayed at the inn, which overlooks the River Tweed in the village of Clovenfords, for some time before buying a property nearby.
Seymour & Clink, which is marketing the inn at offers over ÂŁ35,000 for the leasehold, said the business benefits from tourists, passing trade and day visitors from Edinburgh and beyond. There are 19 golf courses and a number of sporting estates in the area.
