ALLIANCE Wine has added Valencian producer Celler del Roure to its portfolio.
The Spanish firm produces a range of wines using indigenous Valencian grapes such as Mando and Verdil.
It also claims to have revived near-extinct varieties and uses traditional methods of ageing wines in clay pots or tinajas in subterranean cellars, which is said to create a wine with very little sulphur.
Alliance imports the producer’s full range, which is now available to the on and off-trades.
Garech Byrne, Spanish buyer at Alliance Wine, said: “We are really pleased to have Celler del Roure in our portfolio as these are truly delicious and interesting artisanal wines made by great people.
“They offer something totally different from Spain and we are looking forward to introducing them to the UK market.”
