A HOTEL and restaurant business in the Scottish Borders is up for sale, offering what agent Bruce & Co described as “huge potential” for a new owner.

The Glentress Hotel near Peebles has three main income streams: a restaurant, 13 letting rooms and a luxury three-bedroom self-catering lodge at the rear of the property.

The business is currently trading well yet offers excellent potential for further growth.

The hotel’s 100-cover Bony’s Restaurant is said to be extremely popular and has a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence for 2014. Currently trading for “limited hours” five days a week, the restaurant is said to offer scope for expansion.
The self-catering lodge, meanwhile, has three en suite bedrooms and can sleep eight people.
The property also comes with a building plot, which is said to have outline planning permission for a residential property.
Julie-Anne McConville, sales negotiator at Bruce & Co, who is handling the sale, described the hotel as an “excellent base” for visitors to the Borders.
She said the business is “trading well yet offers excellent potential for growth”.
“My clients are currently running the business at their own pace, therefore it offers huge potential for an enthusiastic buyer to revive each aspect of the business,” said McConville.
Bruce & Co is marketing the Glentress Hotel with an asking price of £749,995.
