PUB giant JD Wetherspoon is on track to raise £10 million for young people’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The firm, which has 70 outlets in Scotland, has been raising money for the organisation for the past 12 years and has chalked up £9 million, with staff regularly taking part in challenges, fundraising events and collections.
Wetherspoon boss Tim Martin, who presented former boxer and CLIC Sargent patron Barry McGuigan with a cheque for £9m, described it as a “wonderful achievement” by staff and customers.
“I’m sure it won’t be long before we celebrate reaching £10 million,” he said.
