THERE was Scottish success at the Great British Beer Festival when Loch Ness Brewery claimed a prize in the ‘strong bitters’ category.
The brewery picked up a bronze medal for its HoppyNESS beer at the CAMRA-organised event.
George Wotherspoon of Loch Ness Brewery said he was “delighted with the award”.
“The cask ale market is as competitive as it has ever been with more and more great beer being produced,” said Wotherspoon.
“Just to have our beer at [the] Great British Beer Festival is an achievement in itself. To pick up an award is the icing on the cake.”
Around 55,000 beer lovers are said to have attended the festival at the Olympia Conference Centre in London.
The five-day festival opened on August 12, and featured over 900 different beers, ciders and perries.
