A SCOTTISH brewer has been shortlisted in a new competition celebrating canned beer.
Sanda Blonde, produced by Argyle-based Fyne Ales, is one of 12 beers to be shortlisted in the inaugural Indie Beer Can Festival.
The event, which takes place next month in London, is organised by industry group Can Makers in association with the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA).
The competition was open to any beers from independent breweries, whether they are currently available in cans or not, with each of the finalists awarded a limited-edition can line provided by Can Makers.
Gold, silver and bronze medal winners will be announced at the event.
Graham Fenton, chairman of Can Makers and a member of the judging panel, said the competition had received “a huge amount of interest”.
“There were so many exciting and appealing entries, creating a shortlist was a tough challenge,” he said.
“Our judges spent a long time deliberating the qualities of each beer and we are confident that the best twelve have been chosen for the final in September.”
