BROADCAST giant Sky has reminded publicans of the consequences of illegally screening football matches ahead of the new season.
A guide for licensees from the broadcaster states that the only legal way to show Sky Sports in pubs and clubs in mainland UK is through a commercial viewing agreement from Sky Business.
Alison Dolan, deputy managing director at Sky Business, said illegal screenings “short-change” law-abiding licensees.
“Sky takes illegal use of its programming very seriously as part of its commitment to protecting hardworking licensees who legally subscribe to Sky,” said Dolan.
