ISLAY distillery Ardbeg brought a piece of home to its ‘Ardbeg Day’ celebrations in Edinburgh, installing a purpose-built peat football field for the inaugural Ardbeg Peat Football Championship in the capital.

The event saw teams compete for the Ardbeg Peat Football Trophy on the mud-filled football pitch (pictured right) in St Andrews Square.
Spectators got the chance to sample the distillery’s limited edition Ardbeg Auriverdes, which takes its name from the colour of the golden whisky (auri) in Ardbeg’s green bottle (verde).
The event also included a whisky tasting area, a bar and a street food stand.
