A NEW bar and restaurant has been launched in a Speyside hotel as part of a revamp of the property.

The Copper Dog, which takes its name from the ‘dipping dog’ cylinders used by distillery workers to take whisky, was created in the basement of the Craigellachie Hotel as part of a refurbishment by Piers Adam, who bought the hotel last year.
Described as a “local pub”, the Copper Dog will aim to use local produce sourced within 20 miles of the hotel and will stock a range of Scottish ales.
“We’ve had great support and interest from the local people and local businesses during the restoration and also welcomed input from Highlands & Islands Enterprise,” said Adam.
