THE firm behind an Edinburgh steak restaurant has been ordered to remove a fibreglass cow statue from a first floor window.

Edinburgh City councillors voted 8-5 to banish the cow statue from Kyloe Restaurant and Grill on Rutland Street. Councillors first requested the cow be removed due to its “detrimental effect on the character of a listed building” last December, prompting a 3000-signature petition to save the statue.
Nic Wood, of Kyloe parent firm Signature Pub Group, said the firm respects the council’s decision “but will obviously move to appeal”.
