THE Sitting Room on Colinton Road in Edinburgh has been sold by Christie & Co on behalf of pubco Star Pubs & Bars.
The pub, which was formerly known as Centre Court, was on the market at an asking price of offers over £250,000 plus VAT.
Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, said the sale of The Sitting Room “represents further confidence in the pub market, especially in city centres”.
“The Sitting Room is an excellent example of a good quality freehold situated within a busy retail parade in a popular and affluent part of the city,” said McNeil.
Christie & Co has sold a number of pubs and hotels in the Edinburgh area this year and McNeil said the firm is “confident this will continue as we head further into 2014”.
“Buyers rightly believe that an investment in bricks and mortar within Edinburgh will continue to be a solid investment,” he said.
