DEMAND for pubs and restaurants in Edinburgh is “on the rise”, according to commercial property agency Christie & Co.

Barry McNeil, associate director at the firm, said Christie & Co sold ten licensed businesses in and around Edinburgh in the first three months of this year.
“We are confident the sale of licensed and leisure units in and around Edinburgh will continue as demand picks up due to ever increasing optimism returning to the economy,” he said.
McNeil’s comments came as Christie & Co announced the sale of The Galleon bar in Portobello to Caledonian Heritable.
The Galleon joins west end venue Ryan’s Bar and The Dome on George Street in Caledonian Heritable’s portfolio.
