A RESTAURANT and bar business in the north west Highlands has been bought by local restaurateurs in a deal brokered by Christie & Co.

The Caberfeidh Restaurant & Bar in Lochinver was acquired by Colin Craig and Lesley Crosfield, who currently operate the Michelin starred Albannach restaurant in the village.

Colin Craig and Lesley Crosfield operate the Michelin starred Albannach restaurant.

Overlooking the river and Lochinver harbour, The Caberfeidh comprises a 30-cover restaurant, a lounge bar and a beer garden; there’s also owner’s accommodation.
The restaurant is said to be “highly acclaimed” for its fresh seafood, attracting both tourists and locals from the village, which is home to around 1000 residents.
Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale on behalf of Simon and Jennifer Allen, said the bar and restaurant occupies a “prominent trading location” on the main road through the village.
“Our clients successfully ran the business for nearly seven years during which time they had managed to create an exceptionally profitable bar and restaurant that had an excellent local reputation as well as becoming very popular with those visiting the area in the busy tourist months,” he said.
“The purchasers currently operate Albannach Restaurant, a well-known Michelin starred restaurant also in the village of Lochinver. The business is co-owned by Colin Craig and Lesley Crosfield, who has the distinguished honour of being the only female chef in Scotland to hold a Michelin Star.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Colin and Lesley the very best of success with their new business venture. “
The Caberfeidh was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of offers over £335,000.
