Beer from the Amazon lands in UK
WITH the Word Cup in Brazil fast-approaching, beer importer World Beers is set to introduce two beers from Brazilian brewery the Cervejaria Amazonia.
Translating as the Amazon Brewery, Cervejaria Amazonia is based in the Brazilian city of Belem.
Two of the brewery’s beers, Forest Pilsen and Forest Bacuri, are now available from World Beers in the UK.
Forest Pilsen is said to be brewed using German brewing principles to produce what the brewer describes as a “distinctively smooth, full-bodied beer with a typical Germanic hopped finish”. Forest Bacuri is a fruit beer brewed using Bacuri, a wild citrus fruit unique to the Amazon Rainforest.
Forest Bacuri is said to have a flavour profile with “refreshing lemon and lime notes”.
Peter Karsten of World Beers said the beers are “premium quality, perfect for summer”.
“With the World Cup adding additional Latin flare to the summer followed by the Olympics in 2016, we are very excited about the brand’s prospects and feel it will see strong interest in the on-trade,” said Karsten.
Arlindo Guimaraes of the Amazon Brewery said the firm is “delighted to be working with World Beers” and “looks forward to growing the brand in the UK market”.
