THE directors of wholesaler Inverarity Morton have said the company is in a strong position after unveiling its new wine list.
The 2019-strong list, revealed earlier this month at an event in Edinburgh, is the first from the firm since its acquisition of Forth Wines last October.
It features wines from 139 different suppliers.
“I think a lot of people maybe thought when the two companies came together it would be a slash and burn – we’d just cut the list in half – but we can’t do that,” commercial director Ian Cumming told SLTN.
“If you look at the customer base we have, we have to provide exclusivity; different wines for different customers.
“The example we use is if you take George Street, we have a lot of customers there, so we have to make sure that we have 16 Pinot Grigios and 12 Proseccos and things like that.
“It’s about making sure that our key customers are catered for in terms of offering them variety and exclusivity.”
