THE owner of Tennent’s and Magners has reported “resilient” trading in Scotland over the festive period.

Posting an interim management statement for the four months to January 16, C&C Group credited a strong performance by its Tennent’s UK business for providing a “degree of balance” to a “more competitive” UK cider market.
Sales of Tennent’s lager in the Scottish free-trade in the three months to the end of November 2013 were said to be up 8% in volume terms.
