ISLE of Arran Distillers has launched the latest expression of its whisky to be named after Scotland’s bard.
Matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks the Robert Burns Single Malt contains a mix of different aged spirit and includes no artificial colouring.
This is the second expression of Arran’s whisky to carry the Robert Burns name after the distillery relaunched the range last year.
The Robert Burns malt is distributed across the world and is said to have a particularly strong following in Russia.
Master distiller James MacTaggart said the whisky has been “skilfully created by combining different ages to produce a beautifully rounded whisky”.
“The sweet, fruity notes and the depth of flavour mean that this malt can be happily enjoyed neat, on the rocks or as part of a classic whisky cocktail,” he said.
In the UK the Robert Burns Single Malt is available from the Isle of Arran website, www.arranwhisky.com, as well as through the company’s distributor, Indie Brands, priced at £28.99 a bottle.
“As a patron of the Robert Burns World Federation we wanted to create something special, and with the end result we have achieved liquid poetry,” said Isle of Arran Distillers managing director Euan Mitchell.
“Both Burns and whisky are global Scottish icons and we’re promoting this bottling to great success around the world.”
