FOUR Glasgow venues will go forward to the Best Bar None Scotland Awards for 2014 after scooping the top gold awards at a ceremony in the city last week.
Driftwood, The Garage, The Arches and Coopers topped the standard premises, late night, specialist and community pub categories at the ninth Glasgow Best Bar None Awards, in the city’s Grand Central Hotel.
A total of 77 venues across the city were recognised in the scheme, which rewards best practice. Special awards went to Bar Home, which was presented with the inaugural People’s Choice Award, while Bar Budda was named Best Newcomer. In other awards, Slouch picked up the Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Award, Mansion House took the Apex Radio Award, and the Sir John Moore was named Most Improved Venue.
Phil Walker, MD of Community Safety Glasgow, said: “The collaborative work around Best Bar None by both the public sector agencies and the bars and clubs is quite simply outstanding.”
