SCOTTISH breweries have received a cash boost said to be worth £96,000 through retail chain Aldi’s winter beer festival.
The festival, which launched on October 31 and is set to run for five weeks, features seasonal ales from 32 breweries across Scotland, including Hebridean Gold from Skye Brewery, Eden Bourbon Barrel Ale from Eden Brewery and Ossian from Inveralmond Brewery.
Bob Hogg from Inveralmond said Aldi’s beer festival is a “positive experience” for its brands.
“As a result of the beer festival, we now have a core range of premium bottled beers in Aldi stores across Scotland,” said Hogg. “Ossian and Lia Fail are now accessible to a whole new segment of craft beer drinkers.”
Richard Holloway, Scottish MD at Aldi, said the beer festival “reflects our commitment to local suppliers”.
