Compliance is costly for trade

COMPLIANCE with health and safety and employment law costs the licensed trade £792 million a year, according to the Forum of Private Business (FPB).
The business trade group claims the average pub or hotel owner has an annual ‘compliance bill’ of £15,322, 5% higher than the UK average of £14,600.
The FPB said operators are “frustrated” with the amount of red tape they have to negotiate.
