Tie the knot with Ayrshire business

Kilmarnock hotel on market for first time in 16 years

A KILMARNOCK hotel which is said to benefit from a strong weddings business is on the market for the first time in 16 years.

The Foxbar Hotel has two function rooms which cater for weddings as well as other events and conferences; the Argyll Suite can accommodate 180 guests and has its own bar, dancefloor and stage, while the 80-capacity Lomond Suite also has a bar and dancefloor.

The Foxbar Hotel benefits from its reputation as a wedding venue.

A bridal suite, featuring a four-poster bed and roll-top bath, was created as part of the recent refurbishment of the hotel’s 20 bedrooms.
The hotel’s restaurant and bistro have also undergone a recent refurbishment and are said to feature contemporary decor.
The bar and restaurant area can cater for 36 covers, while the adjacent 50-cover bistro also doubles as a public bar and has a pool table and ‘sports room’. There’s also a separate dining room opposite the bar and restaurant, which can seat up to 18 people and is currently used to serve breakfast to residents, and a kids’ TV room.
Bruce & Co’s Alan Maxwell, who is handling the sale, said the hotel trades from a good mix of accommodation, functions, food and wet sales.
“The property is set in its own spacious grounds and offers excellent potential for expansion or redevelopment,” he said.
“Its sale offers a rare opportunity to purchase a high quality, beautifully presented and successful Ayrshire hotel. It benefits highly from its central location and reputation as a wedding venue.”
