A NINETEENTH century country house hotel with an established weddings business has come onto the market.

Three-star Strathblane Country House Hotel is located in the foothills of the Campsie Fells, close to Ben Lomond and the Glengoyne Distillery and only twelve miles outside Glasgow.
Built in 1874, the property was once home to Scottish aristocracy, before its eventual conversion into a ten-bedroom hotel.
More recently, a 180-capacity function suite was added, which has its own bar and dancefloor.
A further 30 covers can be catered for in the separate Ben Lomond Suite.
A separate two-bedroom cottage is included as part of the sale, which is currently being used as owner’s accommodation but could be converted into self-catering letting accommodation.
The weddings market is said to be a key focus for the business, which can stage ceremonies either in the building itself or in the gardens.
So far 35 weddings have been booked for this year, according to selling agent Bruce & Co.
The property firm’s Safa Sultan said the hotel “trades successfully from a good mix of accommodation, food and wet sales”.
“There is, however, opportunity to grow income further with the potential for an additional en-suite bedroom and external lodge accommodation,” said Sultan.
Bruce & Co is seeking offers in the region of £1.5 million for Strathblane Country House Hotel.
