THE firm behind cocktail mixer brand Funkin has launched two promotional campaigns in the run up to summer.
The ‘Innovation Champion’ activity will see Funkin search for a bartender to work as a brand ambassador for the drinks company on a part-time freelance basis for one year.
Candidates for the position will be asked to demonstrate their suitability for the role by providing a 100-word personal statement. Shortlisted bartenders will then be asked to present their signature cocktail to a Funkin representative; the winner will be selected at a final in September, when candidates will compete in a head-to-head cocktail competition judged by Funkin representatives.
“This is a unique opportunity for a talented and aspirational bartender to take the next step in their career,” said Funkin chief executive Andrew King.
“The role is a chance to gain invaluable skills working with our team of talented product developers and a brand which has been at the forefront of the UK cocktail scene for the last decade.
“We’re embarking on a UK-wide search for a rising star who is charismatic, passionate about the bartending trade and looking to explore new ideas in cocktail making. We’re searching for a candidate who is well connected and in tune with the latest cocktail trends, drink fashions and flavours.”
The search coincides with a new consumer ad campaign.
Adverts with the strapline ‘Your bar. Your rules’ will run in Cosmopolitan and Company magazines from next month in a bid to target 20 to 30 year old women.
Funkin will also invest in consumer events, competitions and social media engagement
