A FIFE licensee claims his pub is the first in Scotland to offer haircuts to customers.
The Jubilee Tavern in Burntisland has been given the green light to introduce its ‘Hair of the Dog’ service, which will be provided by professional barber Lauren Andrews from July 6.
Pub owner David Henderson said the licensing board raised concerns over health and hygiene and the police had questions over the presence of scissors and razors in the bar area, but he said he addressed these issues and the scheme received the go-ahead.
New barbers chairs and screens are to be brought into the bar in preparation for the launch of the service, which will run on Saturdays between 10am and 3pm.
“I think it’s definitely going to increase the early Saturday trade,” Henderson told SLTN.
