Whisky event to cause uproar

A TW0-day whisky event is set to return to the capital later this month for the second year running.

Taking place at the Surgeon’s Hall on May 25 and 26, Whisky Stramash will bring a host of distillers and industry experts together under one roof. Distilleries signed up so far include Glenfiddich, AnCnoc, The Macallan, Highland Park, Laphroaig and Deanston.
Events planned for this year’s Stramash include Glenfiddich’s interactive virtual warehouse; a trip down memory lane with Deanston, allowing visitors to dress up as distillery workers from days of old; and demonstrations of the latest techniques in molecular mixology.
Organisers say they are confident of beating last year’s total of 2100 visitors over the two days.
“This year’s Whisky Stramash is set to be even bigger and better than last year’s legendary event,” said founding partner Scott Martin.
“We promise to push the boundaries even further to bring together a show that will excite the purists, tempt the interested and intrigue the indifferent.”
