SALES of beer in the UK fell 2.9% in the first quarter of 2013, according to new figures from the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).
The organisation’s latest Beer Barometer report said the drop was mostly attributed to the on-trade, where the volume of beer sold fell by 5.5%. The off-trade was more static, it said, with sales up 0.1% compared to the first quarter of 2012.
