THE Law Society of Scotland has criticised proposals to give police powers to close premises selling alcohol near football stadiums when games are on.
In its response to the consultation on the Scottish Government’s Further Options for Alcohol Licensing paper, the legal body said the legislation would “unfairly discriminate against a large section of the population”, including licence holders and football fans.
