Arbroath outlet hits the sweet spot

Licensed tearoom and shop for sale in coastal town

Sugar & Spice comprises a 50-cover tearoom, with additional outdoor seating to the front of the premises and in the gardens at the rear

A NEW owner is being sought for a licensed tearoom and restaurant in Arbroath.

Sugar & Spice comprises a 50-cover tearoom, with additional outdoor seating to the front of the premises and in the gardens at the rear; there’s also a sweet and gift shop, and an enclosed childrens’ play area with a large wooden ‘gingerbread house’.

The owners keep the tearoom open at weekends for dinner. There is potential to run it as a restaurant.

Sugar & Spice has been run by the current owners for the past four years.
The shop trades from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and between 12 noon and 7pm on a Sunday. The tearoom opens late on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner.
Selling agent DM Hall said the business benefits from both local and tourist trade – and said there is potential for new owners to run the business as a restaurant.
“The tearoom has been a particular success in the four and a half years it has been run by the current owners, serving world-renowned local delicacies, such as Arbroath Smokies, as well as delicious home baking and cakes,” said the agent in a statement.
Offers over £295,000 are being sought for Sugar & Spice.
