HOTEL chain Premier Inn is set to open a further four hotels in Scotland.
Parent firm Whitbread confirmed it has secured four new sites – Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and St Andrews – in a move that will add 388 bedrooms to its portfolio.
The proposed six-storey hotel at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay will be the largest of the four, with 180 bedrooms and a restaurant; it is set to be open in time for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Hotel and restaurant developments are also planned for the sites in Perth and St Andrews, while the Stirling site will house a 60-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and a Beefeater Grill restaurant. The four new Scottish sites are part of Premier Inn’s ongoing expansion across the UK, to increase its number of rooms from 52,000 to 65,000 by 2016.
