Local operator snaps up village pub

The Lomond Tavern in Falkland.

A PUB in the Fife village of Falkland has been bought by a local operator for an undisclosed sum.

Bruce Taverns bought the Lomond Tavern from an asking price of £300,000 in a deal brokered by Christie & Co.
The pub was sold on behalf of Jack Henderson, who has been at the helm for the past nine years.
Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “Bruce Taverns has a number of licensed presence in Fife and Edinburgh and I have sold other pub businesses to the company.
“I have now sold the Lomond Tavern five times in the last 15 years – but, I’m sure the business will now stay in caring and steady hands for the foreseeable future.”
