Agent tees up sale of two golf hotels

Businesses in Edinburgh and St Andrews on the market

TWO golf hotels in the east of Scotland are up for sale with a joint price tag of £5.95 million.

The Links Hotel in Edinburgh and Greyfriars Hotel in St Andrews are being sold by Kingdom Hotels, which has refurbished both properties within the past seven years.
Kingdom is selling the properties to move away from managed operations and focus on its tenanted estate.

As well as location, the issue for any new owner is the condition of the properties and here the standards are exceptionally high.

The 22-bedroom Links Hotel is located close to Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Castle.
The property, which was fully refurbished by Kingdom Hotels in 2011, has a beer garden which overlooks the 35-acre Bruntsfield Links.
In St Andrews, the Greyfriars Hotel has 20 en suite and air-conditioned bedrooms and a ground-floor bar, which is said to have established a reputation for its range of international beers. Kingdom refurbished the hotel in 2006.
Suzanne Lawrie of selling agent DM Hall said she expects the hotels to attract a high level of interest from potential buyers.
“We are very pleased to have won the mandate to market these two outstanding hotel properties,” she said.
“As well as fantastic locations, the critical issue for any new owner is the condition of the properties and here, in each case, the standards are exceptionally high as a result of the recent and extensive refurbishments.
“Both are quality trading locations highly valued by their clientele and visitors.”
