EDINBURGH’S Scotch Whisky Experience is giving whisky enthusiasts the chance to meet master blenders from around the world later this month.
The Meet the Blenders event will take place on April 24 as master blenders from countries including Ireland, the United States, Sweden and Japan convene in the capital to judge the International Spirits Challenge, which is returning to Edinburgh for a second year.
The event will give guests the chance to chat with the experts over a dram, and will be followed by a tutored tasting of The Dalmore 1263 Custodian with Whyte & Mackay master blender Richard Paterson; the rare Highland malt was distilled at 12:04 am on January 1, 2000, to mark the dawn of the new millennium and just 421 bottles were released in 2012.
Susan Morrison, director and general manager of the Scotch Whisky Experience, said: “There is no other event which allows enthusiasts to speak to all of these experts informally, face-to-face and discover some of the intriguing secrets behind their art.”
Tickets costing £25 can be booked at scotchwhiskyexperience.co.uk
