Loch-side hotel changes hands

The Poolewe Hotel will be refurbished.

A COUNTRY inn on the west coast of Scotland is to be refurbished after changing hands.

Located on the edge of Loch Ewe, the Poolewe Hotel has nine letting bedrooms, two self-catering flats, a split-level lounge bar and bistro, residents’ lounge and restaurant, and owner’s accommodation. It was bought by Shropshire businessman David Summerfield from an asking price of £395,000. The new owner said he intends to revamp the property.
“Despite market conditions remaining challenging, loch-side hotels still attract strong interest from buyers and this was evident in the sale of the Poolewe, where a number of offers were received,” said Christie & Co’s Ken Sims, who handled the sale.
