JD Wetherspoon boss Tim Martin said trading has been “reasonable” in the last six months given the pressures on consumers.
The pub giant said revenues were up 10% to £626.4 million in the 26 weeks to January 27, while like-for-like sales climbed 6.9%.
However, operating profit was down 2% to £52.1m in the six month period.
Martin also renewed his calls for a VAT cut.
